Wind Power
Man succeeded centuries ago in making the power of the wind useful to him. And despite the fact that not a single breeze blows more powerfully today than it did a hundred years ago, man has succeeded it running steelworks and indeed whole cities as the development in this field is being driven on by tireless idealists despite strong (political) headwind.
In the meantime, several thousand workers are being gainfully employed in the wind power industry. In some areas of Germany wind energy today already has a share of more than 20%, tendency on the increase. We would not be Genesis, if we did not see in this field, too, an interesting future market with enormous growth-potential. Here it is the specialised, high-performance facilities in small to medium-sized formats which, with our support, will be embarking on their world-wide march of triumph More...
The wind energy market is one of the fastest growing markets in the world. In addition to its good growth, in the past year, the market has also shown how resistant it can be to crises. In 2009, when the economic crisis wrought havoc in all areas, wind energy in particular registered new records all over the world. With 39 % growth and the new installation of 10,010 MW, the US market in particular reached its highest point to date. It therefore exceeded all expectations and concerns, which even predicted a decline of 50 %. For 2010, the AWEA (American Wind Energy Association) is again expecting solid growth with around 9,000 – 10,000 MW. How the year will actually develop, however, is very unpredictable. The pessimists are expecting a decline in installations, as external events such as the economic crisis are passed onto the wind industry only with a delay and could now begin to have a real impact. By contrast, the optimists believe in another successful year, as state funding is currently very advantageous and the economy in general seems to be coming out of the crisis.
Following 2009 as one of the most outstanding years for the wind industry in the USA, in which many new records were set, a slight slow-down is initially expected in the wind energy market in 2010. Nevertheless, the potentials for the wind energy market in the USA remain excellent and the market is unquestionably one of the most important and largest in the world. Despite the successes mentioned, the US wind energy market is still supplied with 50 % foreign products and there is a shortage of many parts. German companies, which enjoy an excellent reputation in the sector, should therefore use the coming years to apply the know-how they have gained from the past and to fill gaps in the supply chain with their products and knowledge. The target group analysis for wind energy in the USA analysed the entire US wind market and the sections thereof and revealed potentials for German companies. It therefore represents an excellent starting point on which German companies can build, in order to exploit the opportunity of the largest wind energy market in the world. The network of chambers of foreign trade and the federal ministry of economy and technology are happy to help here and can provide helpful assistance with market entry.
